Adam Widener is a documentary filmmaker and award-winning multimedia journalist whose investigative work has ignited change across northeast Indiana.
Adam is a former 15 Finds Out reporter for WANE-TV, the CBS affiliate in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In his latest work, his first documentary titled The Promise, Adam revisits a story idea that stuck with him during his time at NewsChannel 15. For two years, he followed the journey of two African children brought over to northeast Indiana for medical treatment before being returned home to their third-world country.
His work has been recognized by the Indiana Broadcaster's Association, Associated Press, and Society of Professional Journalists. His investigations have forced legislators to change a law, shut down a fake charity, exposed injustice, and held the government accountable.
Adam is currently an Assistant Professor of Broadcast Media in the Digital Media Arts Department at Huntington University. He has a B.A. in broadcasting from Huntington University and is set to graduate in May of 2019 with his M.F.A. in film and television production from Asbury University.
